Drainage Works
Solution
Drainage Systems
Horizontal band drains are commonly used in horizontal capillary drainage systems to efficiently remove excess water from soil and improve ground stability. These drains, typically made of prefabricated geosynthetic materials, facilitate rapid drainage by providing a continuous pathway for water movement. Installed at strategic depths, they intercept and channel water away from the soil, reducing hydrostatic pressure and preventing waterlogging. This is particularly beneficial in areas with high water tables, such as road embankments, sports fields, and agricultural lands, where proper drainage is essential for maintaining structural integrity and preventing soil erosion.
The effectiveness of horizontal band drains in capillary drainage systems lies in their ability to enhance soil permeability while minimizing disruption to the surrounding environment. Compared to traditional gravel drains, they offer a cost-effective and efficient solution by requiring less excavation and material. Additionally, their flexibility allows them to be adapted to various soil conditions and site requirements. By promoting controlled drainage, these systems help maintain optimal moisture levels, improving soil strength and reducing the risk of settlement or structural damage in infrastructure projects.
Reinforced soil slope with natural slope facing
Adopting brand-new water drainage concept, E’DRAIN capillary drainage band, board and pipe products simulate natural ecological mechanism, cleverly use four natural phenomena —— “capillary force, siphone force, water surface tension and gravity”, it works upon principle of initiative water absorption and discharge, and it has special function with effectively prevent clogging and silting-up.
Through years of practical application, E’DRAIN capillary drainage product is made of weather-proof PVC flexible materials with ductility, its drain slot and structure is formed by extrusion process, dimension is as following:
1. Slots are set on 2mm thick plastic PVC sheet, there is one 1mm diameter capillary pore every 1.5mm along transverse direction, and capillary pores extend lengthways along the sheet.
2.Split a 0.2~0.3mm-width water suction groove lengthways along the extending pores, making it to form“Ω”structure.
The principle of capillary drainage materials preventing drainage system from clogging is mainly by making use of two natural phenomena, gravity and capillary suction, its structural design with continuous groove and “Ω”structure ensures no clogging.
Geocomposite Drainage Drainage System
Takes specific HDPE resin and masterbatch as raw materials, by process of extruding, setting and heat-bonding with PP or PET nonwoven geotextile to form the E’DRAIN geocomposite drainage product. It has characteristics of excellent transmissivity, compressive strength and durability, making it an ideal drainage material.
Advantages of E’DRAIN Geocomposite Drainage:
High rigidity, high compressive strength
It effectively prevents geotextile from embedding into drainage channel, maintains good drainage performance even under high load.
Large porosity can cut off capillary water rising and reduce the effects of frost heaving and freeze thawing.
The extremely high tensile strength and tensile modulus make the product achieve foundation reinforcement, besides drainage and isolation.
