Drainage Systems
Horizontal band drains are commonly used in horizontal capillary drainage systems to efficiently remove excess water from soil and improve ground stability. These drains, typically made of prefabricated geosynthetic materials, facilitate rapid drainage by providing a continuous pathway for water movement. Installed at strategic depths, they intercept and channel water away from the soil, reducing hydrostatic pressure and preventing waterlogging. This is particularly beneficial in areas with high water tables, such as road embankments, sports fields, and agricultural lands, where proper drainage is essential for maintaining structural integrity and preventing soil erosion.
The effectiveness of horizontal band drains in capillary drainage systems lies in their ability to enhance soil permeability while minimizing disruption to the surrounding environment. Compared to traditional gravel drains, they offer a cost-effective and efficient solution by requiring less excavation and material. Additionally, their flexibility allows them to be adapted to various soil conditions and site requirements. By promoting controlled drainage, these systems help maintain optimal moisture levels, improving soil strength and reducing the risk of settlement or structural damage in infrastructure projects.
Geocomposite Drainage System Takes specific HDPE resin and masterbatch as raw materials, by process of extruding, setting and heat-bonding with PP or PET nonwoven geotextile to form the E’DRAIN geocomposite drainage product. It has characteristics of excellent transmissivity, compressive strength and durability, making it an ideal drainage material. |

Advantages of E’DRAIN Geocomposite Drainage: High rigidity, high compressive strength It effectively prevents geotextile from embedding into drainage channel, maintains good drainage performance even under high load. Large porosity can cut off capillary water rising and reduce the effects of frost heaving and freeze thawing. The extremely high tensile strength and tensile modulus make the product achieve foundation reinforcement, besides drainage and isolation. |
Reinforced soil slope with natural slope facing E'DRAIN offers a new water drainage system that works like nature. This system uses four natural forces: capillary force, siphon force, water surface tension, and gravity. It effectively absorbs and releases water while preventing clogs and buildup. E'DRAIN products are made from strong, flexible PVC that withstands weather. They have been designed through an extrusion process with the following features: 1. The drainage slots are on a 2mm thick PVC sheet, with a 1mm diameter capillary pore every 1.5mm across the sheet. The pores run lengthwise along the sheet. 2. A water suction groove, 0.2-0.3mm wide, runs along the length of the sheet, creating an "Ω" shape. The system prevents clogs by using gravity and capillary suction. Its design with continuous grooves and the "Ω" shape keeps the drainage system clear and functioning well. |
