Jiao-Liu Railway Shi-Huai Capacity Expansion-High-Fill Reinforced Earth Retaining Wall Project
Material:Uni-axial Geogrids
Date:2005
Location:Hunan Province, China
Description:The Jiao-Liu Railway is a key project in China's Tenth Five-Year Plan. The Zhangjiajie New Passenger Station, part of the Shi-Huai capacity expansion, requires a high-fill embankment approximately 15 meters wide and over 450 meters long, as its platform must rise 6 to 7 meters above the original ground level.
To address limited land resources and reduced costs, the design includes a reinforced earth retaining wall. The uni-axial Geogrid from our company has been chosen for reinforcement after thorough evaluation.
The reinforced earth retaining wall, located on the right side of the section from K966+145 to K966+595, is 450 meters long and 6 to 7.2 meters high, with a slope ratio of 1:0.05. Constructed from cast-in-place C25 concrete, it includes φ=10 mm Grade I steel bars and expansion joints every 10 meters. Reinforcement lengths vary from 5 meters in the first section to 6 meters in the second, with vertical spacing between layers of 0.3 meters. End walls built with M7.5 mortar-rubble masonry complete the structure.
Benefits:The project emphasizes user-friendly, barrier-free design, integrating modern aesthetics with the natural landscape.
