Cheddi Jagan International Airport Expansion Project
Material:Uniaxal Geogrid, Biaxal Geogrid,Plastic Drainage Board
Date:2013
Location:Georgetown, Guyana
Description:
The airport expansion project will extend the main runway by 1,090 meters to a total length of 3,360 meters, including a blast pad and safety area. The first phase involves constructing a new terminal and foundation reinforcement using a composite scheme to address soil challenges, reducing construction time. With this upgrade, Guyana gains its first Class 4E international airport, capable of accommodating large aircraft. It will also establish routes to Asia and Africa, positioning itself as a key transportation hub.
Benefits:Enhance ground bearing capacity and minimize post-construction settlement by accelerating foundation consolidation through preloading. Implement layered settlement monitoring and real-time pore-water pressure feedback to optimize the loading rate.
