Roadway reconstruction in Southampton Port

Material: E'GRID 3030
Date:2002
Location:Southampton Port of UK
Description:
During the reconstruction of a critical segment of the main road that runs through the port, BOSTD has identified that the CBR in specific locations is only 0.5. The road plays a significant role in facilitating trade and logistics, as it experiences approximately 11,000 commercial vehicles traversing each day in both directions. Spanning a distance of 14 kilometres, this newly constructed highway is essential for improving transportation efficiency and ensuring the successful movement of goods throughout the region.
Benefits: Mitigates structural risks and accommodates heavy commercial vehicles, reducing congestion on the existing overloaded corridor. Optimizes drainage systems and lowers idling time at congested sections, thereby reducing carbon emissions.
