Ecological Restoration and Greening Project of the Yinchuan West Road Slope
Materials:Bi-axial Geogrid
Date:2002
Description:
This project is located on the southeast side of Yinchuan West Road. The existing slope presents several hazards, including loose rocks, risk of rockfalls, and potential collapses, along with significant safety risks on the surface. The slope has a total length of 32 meters, a height of approximately 9 meters, and a designed slope angle of 60 degrees. To enhance the stability of the slope, the project incorporates anchor bolts. Additionally, it utilizes a geogrid reverse wrapping technique to secure the soil and vegetation for planting. This approach ultimately aims to achieve the dual objectives of stabilizing the slope and promoting greening.
Benefits:Vegetation cover helps reduce rainwater scouring and slows down surface runoff. It prevents soil erosion and lowers slope runoff by about 40% to 60%. This also significantly decreases sediment loss. After vegetation is established on a 32-meter slope, measurements show that the PM2.5 concentration in the area can drop by 5% to 10%.
