Ecological Gabion Bank Protection Project

Materials: EGRID 3030L
Date: May 2005
Location:Beijing, China
Description:
This project is located near QingLong Bridge and Jingmiyinshuiqu in Beijing's Haidian District. The entire project consists of two bid segments, with a total length of approximately 700 meters. We will utilize stone cage structures on both sides of the riverbank, with the bottom of these structures raised one meter high and one meter wide to protect the shoreline. The river slope is designed with a gradient of 1:2, covering a length of about 200 meters. Along the slope of each side, we will install five stone cages, with one positioned at the top level, resulting in a total of six stone cages for this segment. For the longer slope, which has a gradient of 1:1.75 and extends about 475 meters, we will set six stone cages along the slope of each side, with one at the top level, totaling seven stone cages. The specifications for these stone cages are 3.9 meters in length, 1 meter in width, and 0.5 meters in height for every 1 meter of chipboard installed, with a total of five units required.
Benefit:To create a sustainable solution for riverbank management. Addressing risks (erosion, flooding) and long-term environmental health enhances resilience in Beijing’s urban water systems.
