Description:The Dhaka Bypass Expressway project, located north of Bangladesh's capital, Dhaka, aims to connect the industrial zones in northern and northeastern Bangladesh while linking several east-west national highways. This expressway serves as a crucial corridor between Dhaka and Chittagong, the country's most significant southern seaport. It spans approximately 48 kilometers with a total investment of $412 million. Diverts ~80,000 daily vehicles from Dhaka’s congested roads, alleviating urban traffic jams .
Technological Innovation
Pioneered semi-rigid pavement (using local river sand + cement) and reinforced retaining walls, cutting material costs by 30% and reducing environmental impact.
